Our fragrances are thoughtfully crafted with carefully chosen ingredients, using Australian botanicals wherever possible to honour the beauty of our native bush. Each scent is long-wearing, hypoallergenic, cruelty-free, and proudly made in Australia.

ADDITIVES

  • Parabens are chemicals used to preserve products and extend their shelf life. Some studies suggest they may affect hormones, though evidence is still inconclusive. They also build up in the environment and have been found in marine life and other wildlife. While research continues, we choose to leave parabens out — simple.

  • Phthalates are often added to fragrances to help blend ingredients and make scents last longer. However, they’ve been linked to reproductive and developmental issues, as well as potential impacts on liver health. For these reasons, we keep phthalates out of all MALLEE fragrances.

  • SLS and SLES are rarely used in fine fragrances, but we still choose to keep them out of all MALLEE products. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a known skin irritant and can be easily absorbed through the skin. These ingredients have been linked to health concerns and are sometimes disguised as “coconut-derived.”

  • Endocrine disruptors are chemicals that can interfere with the body’s hormone system. According to the WHO, they can affect how our hormones are produced or function, potentially leading to reproductive and other health issues.
    We’re proud to say MALLEE fragrances contain no known or suspected endocrine disruptors.

  • Petrolatum is sometimes used to make fragrances last longer, but it can be contaminated with harmful chemicals that may cause cancer or skin irritation. MALLEE products contain no petroleum or petroleum derivatives. Instead, we achieve long-lasting scents with a higher fragrance concentration — 20–25% — giving you a premium, long-wearing fragrance that reveals the full complexity of each note.

  • Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are organisms that have been artificially altered, often to boost crop yields or reduce costs. The long-term effects on health are not fully understood, with some studies suggesting potential links to cancer, allergies, or antibacterial resistance — though research is ongoing. For these reasons, MALLEE products are completely GMO-free.

  • All of our fragrances are 100% vegan — created without any animal-derived ingredients and never tested on animals. Each scent is crafted using high-quality plant extracts and carefully selected aroma compounds, so you can enjoy beautiful, long-lasting fragrances that are as ethical and conscious as they are refined. Clean, considered, and cruelty-free — always.

AUSTRALIAN FLORA

  • Buddha Wood is derived from the heartwood of Australian Acacia trees. Its scent is smoky, woody and leathery with a subtle resinous warmth that gives depth and complexity to a fragrance.

  • Australian Sandalwood is grounding and elegant. It blends beautifully with citrus, florals, spices, and resins, enhancing both fresh and oriental compositions without overpowering them. Sandalwood is known for its creamy, warm, and smooth woody aroma.

  • Native Australian Cypress Wood has a fresh, clean and slightly resinous woody aroma. Its lighter and more aromatic than pine or traditional cypress woods, giving it a bright, natural and uniquely Australian character.

  • Pepperberry is a native Australian shrub, prized for its spicy, warm and slightly fruity aroma. Its scent is often described as earthy & complex.

  • Salt Bush is an iconic Australian coastal plant. Its aroma is green, slightly mineral and salty that instantly transports you to the dry bush, coastal flats and Australian salt plains.

  • Coastal Rosemary, a native Australian shrub that smells fresh, herbal, and slightly resinous with a subtle marine edge. Its bright and uplifting, creating fresh and vibrant fragrances.

  • Finger Lime is an Australian native citrus with a bright, zesty, and sparkling aroma—sharper and more complex than lemon or lime. It brings fresh, green facets to a fragrance, adding energy and an uplifting, vibrant character.

  • Flannel Flower is an iconic Australian native wildflower, known for its soft, velvety petals and delicate appearance. It has a soft, powdery, and subtly floral aroma with a clean, fresh, slightly green undertone.

  • Tasmanian lavender is grown in the cool, clean environment of Tasmania’s North. Its scent opens with a fresh herbal brightness, followed by gentle floral notes and a subtle honeyed warmth. Overall, Tasmanian lavender captures the feeling of cool southern air, open fields, and calm space — a lavender that feels elegant rather than sharp, and deeply calming without being overpowering.
